When we reach for memories of our adventures, we want Nature’s fingerprints in our home, authentic and elegant tracks of the wild!

Owning Grizzly Bear, Polar Bear, Black Bear, Wolf, and Mountain Lion tracks became a way to always be in the wild. We pour plaster into only the best tracks…the fresh, deep ones with all the awesome details of the animal that had just passed by. These casts are from those tracks.

While canoeing and exploring the wild Chilkat River in Haines, Alaska one overcast November day we came upon an area on the sandy bank that was full of life! There were hundreds of eagles fishing for the spawning salmon in the wild river, and everywhere there were deep fresh tracks of the Grizzly, Black Bear, and Wolf. Knowing that each animal had recently crossed that spot is true, raw nature at its most gleaming moment. The animal casts that you see here are from that day.

The impressive and beautiful Polar Bear cast was made from tracks found by Paul Ratson, a local tracker and guide, along the famous Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada. A beluga whale carcass had recently washed ashore and attracted many of these magnificent bears. The cast is from an adult’s front paw and includes the impression of fur and claws!

The Mountain Lion cast is from a lion living at the world famous Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It was brought there years ago as an orphan and was not able to be released back into the wild where it was born. It is a majestic and powerful beast, and we include it in the collection to honor this stealthy predator. The picture you see is of the cougar from which the cast was taken.
