Black Bear Claw Print

The Black Bear ("Ursus americanus") traveled and hunted the same beach as the Grizzly along the Chilkat River in Southeast Alaska (see area photos) feeding on the late salmon run. This cast is from an unusually large and powerful black bear. This cast has great details of the pads and claws of the bear’s paw. This cast measures 10”x6”x2” and weighs about 1.7 lbs.
